Headquartered in the Portland, Oregon area, W-P-G consults with corporate, government, association, and non-profit clients throughout the northwest on matters involving workplace practices, labor relations, and workplace investigations.
Often, we are referred by outside counsel to help clients investigate and resolve workplace complaints or disputes that already have erupted. At times, we provide expert witness testimony regarding workplace practices or workplace investigations conducted by others.
We work with clients proactively to design and implement workplace practices that minimize the possibility of employment practices liability in both union and non-union settings, while preserving maximum flexibility for operating managers. We negotiate labor agreements, and we perform HR due diligence analysis to assist workplace integration in merger and acquisition situations.
To help ensure progressive workplace practices become part of the organization's DNA, W-P-G principals undertake interim executive and executive search assignments within disciplines typically responsible for workplace practices. Those positions most often include CHRO/SVP/VP Human Resources, senior Labor Relations and Employee Relations positions, and in-house Labor and Employment Law Counsel. We also provide executive coaching to executives responsible for workplace practices.
W-P-G applies its in-depth knowledge of workplace practices, labor and employee relations, and the law of work in the following practice areas:
*Workplace Practices Group limits its services to consulting activities. Although members of the Oregon State Bar Association, we are not engaged in the private practice of law. When outside legal representation is required, we are pleased to provide referrals to labor and employment attorneys appropriate to client circumstances.
